Why are we doing this?
Schools, you’ve told us that you often struggle to find cultural activities that your students can engage with and take part in local projects.
Cultural organisations and practitioners, you’ve told us that it can be difficult to share your projects with local schools and get students and teachers involved.
We want to make that easier for you by creating this free ‘matchmaking’ service and start to develop a supportive and inspiring network. We hope that the network will develop over time, and will be asking you at this first meeting about your ideas and aspirations for the meetings.
What’s involved?
Coordinated by Ignite Creativity, the Culture Connect meetings act as a meeting point for schools and cultural organisations and practitioners in Calderdale.
Organisations and practitioners can book slots of 5-20 minutes to present their current projects to schools. This could be an update on a project you’re developing with young people, a call out for participants, news about some teacher CPD provision or even a taster practical activity. You can present just once at a meeting or attend regularly to help build up your own network.
