Do you want to be part of improving arts and cultural activities for young people in Calderdale?
Join the Voices of the Future group today!
Made up of 10 young people aged 14-25, the group helps to shape arts and culture for young people in Calderdale. You’ll take part in a range of activities and meet local organisations through sharing your ideas and opinions about what’s good or bad, and how it can be improved.
You’ll attend 1-2 sessions per month. One of these involves visiting a different arts venue in Calderdale each month on a Saturday, experiencing their activities and giving them feedback about what’s great and what could be better about their activities for young people. The other is an evening meeting, usually held at EdShift (7 Harrison Road, Halifax HX1 2AF).
- Your travel costs to venues across Calderdale will be covered.
- The chance to have your voice heard and make a difference to your local area.
- Relaxed time to meet new people, go to new places, take part in creative activities and develop skills for future employment.
The group is open to all young people aged 14-25 who live, work or study in Calderdale, and are passionate about arts and culture.

Yes, we’ll pay for your travel to each venue that you visit. If you think you might need a bit of extra help to afford to come to sessions, please get in touch and we’ll see how we can help.
Each session is slightly different, with a mix of meeting-style sessions and visits to arts venues. The group is youth-led, so you get to decide what happens during the session and how to shape future sessions.
