Launching the Culture Connect Network

We’re thrilled to be launching our new initiative: the Culture Connect network.

When and where?

Meetings take place once a term, in November, March and July of each year. The location moves between a different school each time.

Who is it for?

  • School teachers, senior leadership teams and governors in Calderdale

  • Arts and cultural organisations

  • Arts and cultural practitioners

Why are we doing this?

Schools, you’ve told us that you often struggle to find cultural activities that your students can engage with and take part in local projects.

Cultural organisations and practitioners, you’ve told us that it can be difficult to share your projects with local schools and get students and teachers involved.

We want to make that easier for you by creating this free ‘matchmaking’ service and start to develop a supportive and inspiring network.

What happens?

Coordinated by Ignite Creativity, the Culture Connect meetings act as a meeting point for schools and cultural organisations and practitioners in Calderdale.

Arts and cultural organisations and practitioners can book slots of 10-30 minutes to present their current projects to schools. This could be an update on a project you’re developing with young people, a call out for participants or news about some teacher CPD provision. You can present just once at a meeting or attend regularly to help build up your own network.
