Calderdale Theatre School
About Calderdale Theatre School
Calderdale Theatre School is a Youth Theatre open to young people aged 11–18yrs across Calderdale. The company meets every Saturday in term time. In these sessions, the students work with professional actors and drama teachers on skill-based workshops. These cover all aspects of theatre including voice, movement, devising, improvisation, directing, stage fighting and mask work. They give their students the opportunity to take part in full length productions, in professional venues. The scripts they choose are varied, ensuring their students have a broad experience of performance styles. Their company is inclusive and welcomes young people with or without previous drama experience.
Calderdale Theatre School run an Assisted Places Scheme for students if their parents or guardian are in receipt of benefits. They are also experienced at supporting students who are neurodivergent and those with additional needs and disabilities.
