Meet Max

Ignite Creativity’s ethos is to support young creatives in Calderdale and give them opportunities to develop their skills. We wanted to implement this from the start and have a young creative develop and design the logo for Ignite Creativity.

We were delighted to commission Calderdale-based creative and young person Max Elliott to design Ignite Creativity’s brand assets, including our brilliant new logo. Max is 21 years old and has just finished his final year studying a degree in Graphic Design at Salford University. Through his time at university Max has worked on several branding projects and design work for the music industry. Prior to this, Max studied A-Levels in Graphic Design, Drama and Media, and has long been interested in a career in the creative industry.

Max has been undertaking work experience at Toasted Productions, a Salford based media company, and has recently been offered freelance employment with the company due to his dedication and hard work. Max works on admin, social media and assisting in web development through his role with the company.

Ignite Creativity has been able to offer Max his first paid commission. He has worked closely with the team to create our logo and has used focus group research, consortium feedback and imagination to creative our final logo design.

Max shared his thoughts on this process with us: ‘I was excited by the freedom of this project, whilst been given creative direction throughout; the project enabled me to enhance my existing skills. It was exciting to work with industry clients and have consultations throughout the project. It was interesting to gain focus group feedback, as that is something I’d not experienced before. Thank you for the opportunity.’

Max hopes to gain more graphic design freelancing work in the future and would one day like to work in a creative studio space or start his own graphic design company. You can check out more of Max’s work on Instagram: @maxd_ _design.
