Yorkshire LCEP Conference

In February 2023, Ignite Creativity attended the Yorkshire LCEP conference, hosted by IVE at Leeds City Museum. This was a networking event that allowed all the LCEPs (Local Cultural Educational Partnerships) within Yorkshire to come together and share best practice. Our Core Consortium member Lydia Murrãy (Creative Producer from IOU) and our Project Manager Sammi Lukic-Scott attended the event.

Lydia was also on the focus group for organising the conference, and wanted to share this:

‘It was a great experience to be involved with the organisation of the event from the start. We discussed appropriate venues and speakers for the event and took the time to think about important topics that should be covered. It was enjoyable to work with other people from different LCEPs around Yorkshire. On the day of the event, it was thought provoking to see and hear at what stage the other LCEPs were and how we could use their advice to support Ignite Creativity. We’ve formed some strong links and continue to share what we’re doing with others to support our own and others development.’

The conference hosted two keynote speakers, Susan Coles and Bill Lucas, who gave some interesting insights into creative research within schools and the arts and culture sector. There was opportunity for ‘open space’ where LCEPs had the chance to discuss issues that were important to them and gain valuable feedback from others in the room.

Thanks for the invite to come along IVE - we had a great time and came away with so much to think about!
